Description: A 1700 acre SSSI. Flowers, butterflies as well as birds – Turtle Dove, Tree Pipit, possibly Crossbill. Flora includes several species of orchid. Butterflies could include White Admiral, Silver Washed Fritillary, Purple Emperor.

Description: Recently acquired 730 acre reserve east of Amesbury. The existing arable land will be converted to flower-rich grassland. The reserve warden will explain the management techniques. Expect to see Yellowhammer, Skylark, Turtle Dove, also plenty of flowers and butterflies. Morning meeting only.

Description: A visit to the new (2003) RSPB 270 acre wet grassland reserve. Breeding Snipe, Curlew, Redshank. Also Yellow Wagtail and Kingfisher. Other reserves nearby may be visited – Ashcott Corner and Ham Wall. If the weather is warm the Large Blue butterfly may be seen at Collard Hill, 7 miles away.
Meet in the reserve car park on the north side of the A361 between Greinton and Othery. All day meeting so bring lunch.

Description: A 6 mile walk through woodland at Castle Copse and Bedwyn Trail, into Wilton via the windmill and beside Wilton Water. Return along the Kennet and Avon Canal. The paths are generally good and there are no significant ascents. Bring packed lunch, though there are \”escape routes\” for those who wish to leave early.
