Description: Numbers will be limited to 20 as there is no public access to this area. Contact Granville Pictor in advance if you wish to attend – chair@wiltshirebirds.co.uk. There is a charge of £3.
We will visit wet grazing marsh, the estuary of the Beaulieu and hides overlooking lagoons. Wildfowl and waders are the speciality of the area, but raptors are well represented and there is a chance of a diver or scarcer grebe on the sea. All day meeting so lunch should be brought.

Location: ST924204 National Trust car park at Win Green, south of Ludwell
Description: A return to the spectacular downland of this south-west corner of Wiltshire. We will walk a circular route from Win Green along ridges leading down to Tollard Royal. A good variety of birds can be expected in these wooded hills. The route is about 5 miles long including a steady climb to return to the starting point and the meeting will probably last until early afternoon. A snack should be brought and there may be an opportunity for refreshment in Tollard Royal.

Description: Return visit to this Hampshire Wildlife Trust reserve, between Fordingbridge and Ringwood. This site produces good numbers and a wide variety of wildfowl, and there should be lots of winter woodland birds around as well. Lunch should be brought as weather permitting there is the prospect of a further walk in the New Forest in the afternoon.
There are toilets on site at Blashford lakes.

Description: A pleasant walk of several miles to and from Shear Water lake. We hope to see Crossbill, Siskin, possibly Redpoll. Nuthatch, Kingfisher, Raven may be joined by Little Egret and Goosander at the lake. The walk will finish at about 2.00 pm.

Description: This walk will keep largely to the high ground and the route will depend on the weather. In good conditions a 6 mile walk with some ascents and descents, largely over open areas, but also some woodland.

Description: This excellent coastal area usually provides a big and varied list of species – Grebes, Divers and sea duck. Wide variety of waders and wildfowl in Poole Harbour. Chance of Dartford Warbler and Hen Harrier on the heaths. Also Ring-necked Parakeets around the car parks.
The Knoll NT car park is about a mile north of Studland village.
All day meeting – bring lunch.

Description: If the wind is blowing up the estuary with luck we may find species which are more typically found further out to sea eg Leach\’s Petrel which is occasionally seen in late autumn.

Drive along the A403 from north or south. All the bits of road adjacent to the sea are called Beach Road. Park on the northern section opposite house numbers 77 – 91.

Description: Morning visit to 2 WWT reserves in North Wilts. Possibility of Merlin, Snipe and Jack Snipe, variety of wildfowl and Kingfishers. Wellington boots advisable.
On arrival drive down the gravel track to tarmac road and turn right to car park.
