Wild day out at Stanton Park 5th June

May 18, 2010 by wosuser

The Great Western Community Forest is organising a “wild day out” at Stanton Park in partnership with the BBC on the 5th of June. This will be a public follow up event  linking into Spring Watch programmes that will feature Stanton at a local level.

The event is to run from 10am – 4pm and will be based around the ranger centre complex giving it a “village” feel.

The key theme of the event is biodiversity. This can link to many things: nature recording, wildlife gardening, natural crafts, local history and so on. The plan is to have lots of groups that are associated with biodiversity in some way, whether organisations or individuals, and let them come and promote what they do through demonstrations, talks, tours or family activities.

This event will have lots of coverage from the media and would be ideal to show off what you do and how you help or work with nature. However, the key is public participation and learning – it will not be a commercial event.

Please email pnorris@swindon-gov.uk  or phone 01793 466322 if you could attend or are interested in contributing.
