Wiltshire Ornithological Society
Wiltshire Tree Sparrow Recovery Project
We run a county wide nestbox scheme together with over 20 volunteers replenishing feeding stations. An incredibly hard working team ensures that every nestling is fitted with two colour rings that denote where the bird came from and in what year. Please report all sightings to Matt Prior at info@wiltshirebirds.co.uk
This project was initially supported by Thames Water and English Nature and we are now working with the RSPB, English Nature and Wiltshire County Council. The RSPB North Wiltshire local members group are to be especially thanked for their efforts in supporting the project.

This project was started in 1999 and now there are over 170 pairs of Tree Sparrows on the Marlborough Downs and the Upper Thames Valley.
