Willow Tits

We are conducting a study into the biology of Willow Tits, working with Forest Enterprise and RSPB. We are experimenting with different designs of nest box to see if we can increase the range of this scarce and declining species. Feeding stations are kept provisioned to help us to view this elusive species.

WOS member John Last has been instrumental in enabling the success of this project through incredible hard work and superb field craft with observing behaviour and resighting individuals. There are still birds alive that were ringed in 2001.
