Tuesday 13th November 2018 at 7.30 pm: Chris Rumming “Farming with Wildlife in Mind” and Chris Johnson “The weird and wonderful wildlife of Patagonia” at St Andrew's Church Hall, Long Street, Devizes SN10 1NJ.
This evening we have two speakers for the John Pollard Memorial Lecture. The first is farmer Chris Rumming. Chris and Lindsay Rumming are working hard to improve the lot of wildlife on their farm while making a sustainable living. Wide field margins, hedges, “mob grazing” to improve soil condition and plant diversity are among the methods they are using. Chris will give an illustrated presentation showing their work and the results so far. Our second speaker is WOS member, Chris Johnson who will talk about the birds and other wildlife of the Magellan Straits, Tierra del Fuego and Torres del Paine National Park in Chile.
