Bentley Wood, near Winterslow

Sunday 10 July 2016; 9.30am, Bentley Wood, Nr Winterslow. 

At this quiet time of the year, a walk (again in hopefully better weather than 2015) in this 1700 acres SSSI where we hope to enjoy flowers and butterflies as well birds. As well as a wide variety of woodland birds, there is a wide selection of flora present including several species of orchid. If the weather is fine, butterflies we should see include White Admiral, Silver Washed Fritillary, and hopefully Purple Emperor. Meet on the tarmac track at the entrance to the wood at SU 239297. The meeting is likely to last until early afternoon so some lunch should be brought.
