Wednesday 13th July 2022; 9.30 am, Deverill Valley, near Warminster
A mid-summer walk on the downlands above the Upper Deverill villages. This area is home to good numbers of breeding farmland birds like Corn Bunting, Skylark, Yellowhammer and Linnet. Raptors including Red kite, Buzzard and Kestrel also frequent the area. The joy of a walk on the chalk downlands in July is the butterflies and wild flowers, so let’s cross our fingers for a warm sunny day. This walk will be about 5 miles long and includes two steepish hills. Lunch should be brought.
The leader will be Alison Rymell, details of her mobile number and the exact location for meeting is on the programme information sheet sent out with the Winter edition of WOS News and will also be given on the forthcoming events email which is sent at the beginning of the month in which the event is held.
Information relating to WOS field meetings in general is given on the Programme.
