Sunday 25 October, Ashley Walk, near Fordingbridge

An autumn walk of 4-5 miles in the north of the New Forest across heathland to a site favoured by Ring Ouzels on passage.  As well as migrants, a range of heathland and woodland species, including possibly Dartford Warbler and Hawfinch, could be seen.  The meeting is likely to run into early afternoon, so lunch should be brought.  The walk will last more than four hours and there is now a parking charge at all New Forest car parks.  Members are advised to download the RingGo app and familiarise themselves with the information in the following link: https://www.forestryengland.uk/new-forest/parking-information.  The parking charge for more than four hours is £8, and it is possible to make payment by midnight on the day following the visit.
