Risk Assessment
Wednesday 14 October, Somerset Levels
Wednesday, 14 October 2026 09:30
An autumn visit to this internationally renowned area which provides vital and significant habitat for both breeding and overwintering birds. While our target birds will be Bittern, Marsh Harrier and Great White Egret we are also hoping for another special species, Bearded Reedling. To maximise our chances we will visit two different areas. Please bring your RSPB membership card if you are a member as otherwise there is a charge for parking. We shall not be walking more than four miles, the ground is relatively flat with some grassy tracks so walking boots are recommended. The meeting will last all day so please bring lunch, and there are toilet facilities at one of the locations.
Details of the meeting place and the mobile number of the leader will be in the monthly email which is posed either at the end of month preceding the walk or at the beginning of the month in which the walk is to take place and is also on the Programme which has been sent with WOS News.
